Homemade Tool Caddy

How to create a simple tool caddy for your garage or shed.

I needed a niggling extra storage space to organize handled tools like shovels, rakes and brooms. My walls were pretty filled up, so I thought I would buy i of those plastic tool caddies that sit on the floor. I couldn't notice one that was exactly the size I needed, so I decided to build my own.

Homemade tool caddy

I congenital this tool caddy in less than ii hours with materials I had on mitt.

Here's how to do information technology: Start by ripping some 2x4s in half, and build two frames the verbal size you need (add together a cross brace if information technology'southward more than than 4 ft. long). Wrap the frames in PVC-coated rabbit contend. Add strength and avoid sharp edges past folding the fencing over on all four sides, but make sure the holes in the summit fence line upward with the holes in the lesser. I used 1/4-in. crown rug staples to fasten the fence to the frame. Cutting the legs at 2 ft., and screw them to the frames with 3-in. screws. Screw the top frame to the wall studs to keep information technology from tipping over, and yous're done.

I spent less than two hours building this project, and it toll me exactly $0 considering I had all the materials I needed on hand. You should exist able to buy everything for less than $thirty. My new caddy has impressed most every visitor who'due south noticed information technology. Heck, it even impressed my married woman, and that doesn't happen too often.
