How to create this Travel Periodical:
Begin past printing each of the Free Printable Travel Collage Sheets – one each on an 8.five″ x 11″ sheet of white cardstock.
Use a good quality Spray Mount to carefully adhere each canvass of printed cardstock to either side of a midweight chipboard sheet, aligning the edges equally accurately equally possible.
When finished, you should have two sturdy covers with printed images on each side – one for the front, one for the back.
If necessary, trim the cardstock to fit the chipboard:
Employ a sanding sponge to neaten the edges:
If yous like, circular the corners:
For a slightly distressed sleeky finish on the "Travel Periodical" & "Habitation Over again" labels, endeavour embossing with Glycerin!
Cascade a small amount into a container, and pigment it onto the surface of the label area:
Moving rapidly (to prevent the Glycerin from drying) – cover the area with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel:
Tap off the excess, and apply your Rut Tool to cook the UTEE, creating a glossy, even so slightly distressed protective surface over the text:
Adjacent, apply Black Soot Distress Ink to the edges of all four pages using a Blending Tool.
Exist sure to piece of work in a swirling movement:
Now add intense areas of Salty Ocean Distress Ink!
I decided to utilize this gorgeous blue for the Oceans on the map…
Color in the Land Masses with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink:
Add touches of multifariousness with Wild Honey Distress Ink:
Continue this procedure on the other side of the Travel Journal Covers, this fourth dimension adding Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink to warm up the imagery…
If yous like a flake of blotchiness (I practise!) – sprinkle or spray large drops of water onto the surface of the blended Distress Inks.
Allow the water to 'bleach' the inks for a minute or ii, then dry with a Heat Tool.
Once the surface has stale completely, depict a bead of agglutinative along the outer edges of the Travel Journal, and adhere strips of Dresden Trim:
Using the 3-hole notebook paper equally a guide, decide where to add holes for the volume rings:
Marshal the newspaper exactly where y'all want it to lie in the completed book, then trace the holes:
Punch the holes, and and so use the first cover to determine the placement of the holes in the other cover:
Add together splatters of watery Blackness Acrylic Craft Paint to create more depth:
Tone downwardly the Dresden Trim, and reinforce the darkened edges with the same mixture:
For the final touch, add together a layer of wispy gold embossed script in random areas on all 4 sides:
The three Book Rings secure a generous corporeality of notebook newspaper within…and this Travel Journal is now ready to use!
Time to start dreaming….
The splattered and blotched Distress Inks create a glowing properties for the delicate gold embossing:
I love the way that the water droplets create organically shaped blotches, addingsubtle complexity on the surface of the rich pigments:
While we may not be venturing to London or Paris anytime soon, we tin now record all of the wonders that we dream of visiting one day…
From the depths of the Oceans to the bright shining shores of Africa, the world awaits your exploration!
